When does Aftertale launch?
Aftertale is in its last stretch before App Store review, and there isn’t a date to promise yet. Join the waitlist and you’ll get an email the day it’s available.
Aftertale is available now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
How much does it cost?
$6.99 a week or $49.99 a year, billed through the App Store. Prices in other countries follow the App Store’s local pricing. There’s no free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically, and you can cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
What does “full cast” mean?
Every character has their own voice, and a narrator carries the story between them. The lines are performed, not just read: a whisper, a laugh, a pause before someone answers. All of the voices are AI voices.
Is Aftertale made with AI?
Yes. Stories and voices are made with AI and reviewed by the Aftertale team before they’re published. Every story’s credits say so, and no voice is ever presented as a human narrator.
Who are the stories for?
Adults. Aftertale is rated 16+. Romance fades to black, horror builds dread without gore, and no story involves real people.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Your library and your place in each story sync between them through iCloud.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no password. Your subscription belongs to your Apple Account, and your progress syncs through iCloud.
Can I listen offline?
Stories you’ve played recently are kept on your device, so they keep playing on a weak connection. Downloading stories ahead of time for fully offline listening is planned for an update after launch.
Will it keep playing after I fall asleep?
No. Nothing plays on its own: when a story ends, it stops. You can also set a sleep timer; the voice fades out over ten seconds and Aftertale keeps your place.
What happens to my email address?
It’s used for one email on launch day and the occasional update, and every email has an unsubscribe link. It’s stored with Resend, our email provider, and never sold or shared. The waitlist privacy notice has the details.
